FBLA wins 2nd at Districts

The Future Business Leaders of America from Neodesha High School competed against 23 Southeast Kansas high schools at the District I competition at LaCygne, Kansas on Wednesday, January 24th.  After finishing 1st for the past five years, Southeast of Cherokee unseated the defending Neodesha champions.  Southeast brought 40 students and scored 336 points while Neodesha brought 16 students and scored 300 points.  Anderson County was 3rd; Prairie View of LaCygne, 4th; Independence, 5th; and Iola was 6th.

Madisen Lambert – 2nd Health Care Administration, 10th Personal Finance, 1st Ms. Future Business Leader (Tie)

Seth Logan – 1st Mr. Future Business Leader

Kylee Marler – 1st Ms. Future Business Leader (Tie)

Sophia Rohling – 7th Job Interview, 4th Accounting II

Mrs. Betty Wheeler and Mrs. Haley Claibourn are the FBLA Advisors at Neodesha.  Mrs. Wheeler commented, “This is a great group of kids.  I love working with them and feel really good about our solid finish at Districts.”  Students will have the opportunity to compete at State FBLA in Topeka later in the school year.
