The April recipient of the Neodesha High School Bluestreak Leadership Award is senior Noah Bowling. Noah is the son of Randy & Angela Huguenin of Neodesha. Noah is a Renaissance Scholar, a member of FBLA, and attended Boys’ State. He runs Cross Country and is a 3-year member of the Baseball Team. Noah serves on the NHS Student Council and represented his class as a Winter Homecoming King candidate. Noah is active in FFA and he currently serves as the local chapter president, as well as District Reporter.

The March recipient of the Neodesha High School Bluestreak Leadership Award is senior Haley Thompson, the daughter of Kenley and Susan Thompson of Neodesha.
Haley is a Renaissance Scholar and President of the National Honor Society. She has participated in multiple high school musicals and plays. This year, she serves as Secretary of the Drama Club and is a 4-year member of the Bluestreak Band.
Haley’s teachers contributed comments about her character and work ethic:
“Haley Thompson is one of the hardest working, high-character students we have here. She, even on her bad days, is kind and considerate to others. She is emblematic of the characteristics I look for in a role model.” (Mr. Sizemore)

The February recipient of the Neodesha High School Bluestreak Leadership Award is senior Austin Banzet. Austin is the son of Duane and Vickie Banzet of Neodesha. Austin is a Renaissance Scholar and a member of Student Council. He has been active in his local chapter of FFA serving as Past President and current Vice-President. He participates in Cross Country and was named Outstanding Senior Athlete in that sport. He is a 4-year member of the baseball team and a member of the Fall Homecoming Court.

Auditions for the NHS BlueTunes Select Choir for the 2016-17 school year will be held during the week of April 4-8. These tryouts are open to any 8th - 11th grade students. Those auditioning should prepare a 30-second excerpt from any song of your choice. The song should demonstrate your volume, range, and general ability. The January recipient of the NHS Bluestreak Leadership Award is Davy Depew, the son of Dennis & Shirley Depew. He is a 4-year member of Scholar’s Bowl and the Band serving as the Percussion Section Leader. Keeping busy at NHS, he is a member of FBLA, National Honor Society, and Student Council. He’s a Renaissance Scholar, Keith Hersh Scholar, and he attended Boys State and HOBY. He was recently named Mr. Bluestreak American-Idol Style and is a Winter Homecoming King candidate. Davy plans to attend the University of Kansas to study mechanical engineering, hoping to find a career in the motor racing industry.
